Antique bronze with dark brown patina.
Signed with the artist's monogram 'VS'. Bears the foundry stamp "Alexis RUDIER Fondeur Paris".
Engraving on the fronton of the base (Marshal Foch): "1914-Glory to our comrades from Polytechnique who died for France-1918"
