XIXth century
The nineteenth century is considered the true golden age of the publishing bronze.
It is notably thanks to the invention of new technical and industrial processes (reduction / enlargement of prints, larger scale production), to a strong demand from a new bourgeois class of amateurs and collectors, that bronzes were abundantly produced and distributed during this period in France. Famous founders/publishers such as BARBEDIENNE, THIEBAUT, SUSSE FRERES, to name but a few, participated in this tremendous boom.
