Signed 'Gilioli' and dated '1947'.

Cast during the sculptor's lifetime, made by the Tesconie foundry, Pietra Santa, Italy between 1962 and 1969. Artist's proof marked 'HC'.

The original plaster was presented at the 1st Salon of Young Sculpture* in 1949, which took place in the gardens of the Rodin Museum (*of which Gilioli was one of the founding members).

Foundry stamp 'TESCONI' PIETRA SANTA'

Provenance: Verraneman Foundation from 1969 to 2005; Private Collection of a French industrialist from 2005 to 2024; Collection's Gallery since that date.

In good condition, beautiful patina.
