VIGOUREUX Pierre Octave (1884-1965)
Taught by Lemaire in Paris, Vigoureux exhibits his work at the Salon from 1900. Inspired by the academic spirit of his period, he conceives allegorical and adnecdotical subjects and groups. In the 1930s, his work becomes more stylized , getting close to cubism. At the 1937 Exposition Internationale, he presents a “Jeune Vendangeuse” made out of stone and most of his work will be displayed at the Musée d'Art Modern of Paris.
