SZEKELY Pierre (1923-2001)

After studying art in Hungary, Szeleky moves to France in 1947 and starts his first sculptures, inspired by the abstract style of the period. In 1953, he conceived his first official work, « la forme noire » a sculpture designed for the decoration of a parisian building. In 1957, he created many sculptures for kids in many french towns and later, in collaboration with other artists, he worked on many projects as a holiday village or a church. He describes his work not as abstract but expressive. Most of his work is made out of stone. Sometimes cast in Bronze in smaller size.
