SHOENEWERK Alexandre Pierre (1820-1885)

This sculptor is very successful during the second Empire and is influenced by Italy and antiquity. He conceived many busts and statues for the Louvre, Tuileries, Opéra and Hotel de Ville. He begins at the Salon in 1841 with a plaster statue and later presents bronze statuettes.
