MODIGLIANI Amedeo (1884-1920)

Born in Italy, Modigliani studies arts in Venise and Florence. Moving in Paris in 1906, next to the Bateau Lavoir, his drawing and paintings are exhibited in differents Salons. Brancusi, his new best friend will initiate him into sculpture. The influence of Picasso is felt in his work. He made strange woman faces with cubist and minimalistic features, inspired by the primitivism of african art.
