MARYE SIMONE

This artist never studied art and started sculpting in her thirties. She started with farm animals and fishes made out of bronze, and looking more and more strange and surreal. Later, she conceives black or oriental human sculptures. Her portraits seem to be inspired by Khmer's art. Although she does not have many exhibitions, she presents her work at the Salon de la Société Coloniale des Artistes Français during the war.
