LAVROFF Dimitri Georges (1895-1991)

Lavroff studies drawing and painting, but also medecine in Russia. From 1922, he starts creating classical sculptures and works on monuments. Living in Paris from 1927, his Art Déco works made him one of the most representatives artists of the period. He exhibits at many salons animal creations close to cubism wih highly simplified shapes but in a decorative spirit. He moves back to Russia executing many public orders. He works mostly with terracotta and bronze cast by Guillemard.
