LAGRIFFOUL Henri, Albert (1907-1981)

He started sculpting very young, led by his fascination for mineralogy and fossils, as his family where also artists. He attended the Beaux-Arts under Coutan and Landowski and exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1926. His style, influenced by the greco-roman statues is seen to be neo-classical. He was awarded with the Prix de Rome in 1932 and  diversified his work, executing characters, groupes, public monuments and decorative arts. After the war, his style became more abstract. Some of his works can be found at the museum of Art Moderne in Paris.
