ILLIERS Gaston d' (1876-1932)

He was taught by Obiols then by the Comte de Ruillé and exibits in the Salon from 1899. His passion for horses lead him to specialise in horse sculpture and achieve many horses and equine groups, treated in a classical style, with a touch of realism. He is part of the 1931 Exposition Coloniale. Many of his work were cast in bronze.
