CARRIES Jean (1855-1894)

Born in Lyon, he studies at the Beaux-Arts before moving to Paris and focusing in sculpture. He quickly became successful and exhibits at the Salon from 1881. From 1883 his bronzes will be exclusively cast by Bingen, resulting in high quality bronze sculptures. His work is a mix of nauralism and symbolism, created in plaster or bronze.
