CARLES Antonin (1851-1919)

Carles studied in Marseille, Toulouse and Paris Beaux-Arts and is a former student of Jouffroy and Hiolle. He will be renowed as a great portraitist thanks to his bust of  the Marquise de Jaucourt. He exhibits at the Salon from 1878 and will receive many public orders. He executed a statue for the Tuileries garden in Paris and other public monuments.
