The Catalogue raisonné of the work sculpted by Édouard Marcel Sandoz reveals 38 different models of rabbits.
The one we present to you is referenced in the work of Félix Marcilhac published in 1993 by Éditions de l'Amateur under the number 651. It appears to be an extremely rare proof published in 7 copies between 1920 and 1928 by Susse, the very famous and only surviving French foundry of the 19th century.
Patinated brown-black anthracite, this bronze reveals in transparency deep golden reflections typical of the marvellous patinas of which Sandoz had the secret... secret that we will be pleased to share with you at a future meeting.
